There are several different types of jobs available at Danbee each
summer. Please read through the following descriptions, and if
you are interested in working for us fill out our online application
or contact us for further information. We look forward to hearing
from you!

All of the counselors at Danbee work in a
dual role — both as a bunk
counselor living in a bunk with kids, and as a specialty counselor
teaching in a specific program area. Counselor applicants must have completed
at least one year of university. We are looking for people
who are caring, patient, fun-loving, energetic, and who truly love working
with children. As a counselor you will be sleeping in a bunk
with campers. You will help supervise them during meals, rest hours, during
evening activities, on trips and during special events. Many of our counselors
are education and recreation majors at school, looking for further experience
working with kids. At the same time, we are looking for people
who are skilled and experienced in one (or more) of our many
program areas. You will be teaching classes during the daytime, to girls
of all ages and varying levels of experience, in the area(s)
where you have experience. Applicants must have strong knowledge and skills
in their specialty area and must have relevant experience teaching/coaching
children. Being a counselor is an extremely rewarding, and
at the same time challenging, position at camp. Your days will be
long and tiring, and at the same time you will form close bonds
with the girls in your bunk while having an experience that
you will never forget!

Athletics (tennis, soccer, basketball,
softball, lacrosse, field hockey, volleyball, golf, track and field),
Gymnastics, Swim Instruction, Lakefront (waterskiing, sailing, canoeing,
kayaking, windsurfing, fishing), Theater, Dance, Equestrian (English Only), Arts & Crafts,
Pottery, Archery, Ropes, Cooking, Woodcraft, Piano,
Nature, Camping & Hiking, Cooking, Rocketry, Fitness, Aerobics,
Jogging, Camp Mom (for the youngest girls).

There is a Program Head in charge of each
one of our activity areas at Danbee. Program Heads do not live
with campers. They are responsible for developing lesson plans,
ordering supplies, organizing schedules, training and supervising
staff, teaching, and doing whatever else is needed to make sure
that their area runs smoothly and safely. Program heads are also involved
in the special events and evening activities that we run at camp — you
never know when you may be asked to help put together a haunted
house or plan for our upcoming "Leagues" (color
war) break! Applicants must demonstrate extensive experience
and specialization in their program area — most of our Program
Heads are teachers and coaches who love working with children and enjoy
bringing their expertise to camp each summer.

Our nurses live on-site for the summer and work
pre-scheduled shifts each day. Primary responsibilities are administering medications
and tending to day-to-day bumps and bruises. Nurses may be asked to accompany campers to the local Emergency room or Doctors office if needed for x-rays or follow up exams. We also have a doctor
on-site at all times during the summer.

Every summer we hire people to work in our busy
camp office. These
positions include answering phones, organizing mailings, greeting
visitors, helping with projects, and anything else that comes up throughout
the day.

We have several support staff positions available,
including: working in the kitchen, helping out with maintenance, assisting
with laundry and porters.
