Whether you are a budding Picasso or you just enjoy making bracelets
with your friends, the art program at Danbee has something for you. The
goal of art at Danbee is to allow girls to express their individual artistic
talents in many different ways. We structure our program so that creativity,
self-expression, technical skills, and self-esteem are all enhanced through
exploration of the arts.
Our art program consists of two distinct program areas – Arts &
Crafts and Pottery.
Pottery is a very popular program at Danbee. It is a place where girls
enjoy getting their hands dirty and learning to use clay in many different
ways. Through the guidance of our staff of college art majors and high
school teachers, girls can use one of our five pottery wheels to learn
how to make a bowl or vase. They will also be taught the art of sculpture
and free-hand work with the clay. We have two kilns located right at camp
so campers are able to see the results of their hard work right away.
In the Arts ‘n Crafts program campers are able to develop a feeling
of accomplishment while expanding their repertoire of art skills. Danbee
campers receive instruction from our talented staff who teach them a variety
of ways to express themselves creatively. Fun, creativity, and skill development
guide our staff each summer. Campers will experience multiple mediums
that include:
Self-Portraits
Batik
Tie Die
Stained Glass
Painting
Kite Making
Jewelry Making
and much, much, more.
Self-Expression, Creativity, and Fun – that’s what art is
all about at Camp Danbee!
